    Project Overview

For research institutions, accurately simulating the vibration and bouncing conditions that products experience during transportation is an important part of transportation adaptability evaluation, reliability research, and structural validation.

TÜBİTAK, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye, is a leading organization responsible for the management, funding, and conduct of research in Türkiye. It also promotes, develops, organizes, conducts, and coordinates R&D activities in line with national prioritie

To enhance its transportation simulation testing capability, TÜBİTAK required a testing system capable of accommodating large and relatively heavy specimens while providing stable and repeatable low-frequency transportation simulation.

To meet these requirements, CME provided the KRD51-500 Transportation Bounce Test System, offering TÜBİTAK a dedicated platform for transportation simulation and reliability testing.

    End User

    TÜBİTAK

TÜBİTAK – The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye – was established in 1963 and is Türkiye’s leading organization for managing, funding, and conducting research.

TÜBİTAK supports academic and industrial R&D and innovation, conducts research and technology development in line with national priorities, and operates a number of specialized research institutions.

Its research and development structure covers a broad range of fields, including information technologies, materials and process technologies, defense, space technologies, rail transportation, metrology, and fundamental sciences. Its institutes include TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, MAM, SAGE, UZAY, RUTE, and UME.

With its broad research scope and extensive R&D infrastructure, TÜBİTAK requires reliable and repeatable testing capabilities to support demanding research and validation activities.

    1. The Challenge

TÜBİTAK’s transportation simulation requirements involve specimens with different dimensions and weights. Therefore, the testing system needed to provide not only sufficient load capacity, but also stable and repeatable transportation simulation at low frequencies.

    The key testing requirements included:

    • High Load Capacity

Some test specimens and transportation packages can be relatively heavy, requiring sufficient load capacity for large and heavy specimens.

    • Large Specimen Accommodation

Different research projects may involve specimens and transportation packages of different sizes, requiring a large working table to provide sufficient testing space.

    • Low-Frequency Transportation Simulation

Transportation-related repetitive motion needs to be simulated within a controlled low-frequency range. The system therefore needed stable operation from 2 to 5 Hz.

    • Stable and Repeatable Test Conditions

For research applications, consistent test parameters and motion conditions are essential for obtaining comparable results across different test cycles and specimens.

    2. The CME Solution

    KRD51-500 Transportation Bounce Test System

To address TÜBİTAK’s requirements for high-load, large-area, and low-frequency transportation simulation testing, CME provided the KRD51-500 Transportation Bounce Test System.

The system uses rotary motion to generate controlled and repetitive transportation bounce simulation through defined displacement and frequency conditions.

The key requirement was not simply to increase load capacity, but to combine:

Large Working Area + High Load Capacity + Low-Frequency Motion Control + Repeatable Transportation Simulation

    within a single testing platform.

    3. Technical Highlights

    • 500 kg High Load Capacity

With a maximum load capacity of 500 kg, the KRD51-500 is designed to accommodate large and heavy specimens, transportation packages, and related structures for transportation simulation testing.

    • 2000 × 1500 mm Large Working Table

The 2000 × 1500 mm working table provides a large testing area for specimens and transportation packages of different sizes, improving the system’s application flexibility.

    • 2–5 Hz Low-Frequency Operation

The system operates within a 2–5 Hz frequency range, corresponding to 120–300 RPM, providing stable repetitive motion for transportation simulation applications.

    • 25.4 mm Controlled Displacement

The system provides a controlled 25.4 mm displacement, helping maintain consistent motion conditions during repetitive transportation simulation.

    • Rotary Transportation Simulation

The KRD51-500 uses rotary test motion to generate continuous and repetitive movement, providing a controlled test environment for transportation durability and reliability evaluation.

    4. Project Summary

The KRD51-500 Transportation Bounce Test System provides TÜBİTAK with a stable and repeatable platform for transportation simulation and reliability testing.

With a maximum load capacity of 500 kg, a 2000 × 1500 mm working table, 25.4 mm displacement, and a 2–5 Hz operating frequency range, the KRD51-500 is designed to meet the transportation simulation requirements of large and heavy specimens.

This project further demonstrates CME’s capability to provide specialized mechanical environmental testing solutions for research institutions and high-demand industrial customers.
